It's "hump" day fam, but the beauty in this week is that if you're employed by a governmental organization tomorrow is your Friday as a result of the independence day weekend. Yehhh!
Let's go str8(text lingo meaning straight)into the well to see what's flowing today. Every now and again I get a little frustrated as I reflect on my life. I think: "Lord I'm diligent in prayer, faithful to your works, tithing, sewing, etc and yet people who do not, have farrrr more than I do." Has anyone ever experienced these feelings other than me? I know you have, quit being deep. LOL I see the entertainers accepting awards never acknowledging God, living in the huge mansions, driving the flashiest rides, banking and their fruit is rotten. We are not to judge others, which is why I said their fruit is rotten. We are allowed to be fruit inspectors. It would begin to discourage me at times because "I" felt as if it was taking too long for "my time" to come. Still with me?
However, the Lord begin to share with me why I have not a reason to first of all compare myself to them and secondly be "jealous" of what it appears they have. Only what we do for Christ will last!(paraphrasing)Matthew 6:19-21 Why then, would I compare myself to those who have no regards for the assignments of Christ. If they are simply "busy" with things that do not glorify God or edify His people, it will eventually disintegrate. In Luke 10:39-41, Jesus comes to visit sisters Martha and Mary. Mary recognizes that Jesus' visit will be short and most likely will not happen again therefore, she sits and listens to all He has to say. Martha on the other hand is busy preparing dinner, cleaning etc. and has the audacity to get an attitude with Mary because she isn't assisting her. Jesus replied to Martha (and again I'm paraphrasing):"you chose to be busy with stuff that's not important, let alone beneficial to your destiny, so don't hate on Mary for chosing not to."
The children of God who have committed their lives to working for Him are MARY and the world is MARTHA. It may take us a little longer to get the task completed or for the dream to come to past, but when it does, it will be long lasting as a result of having placed it before God until He's done molding it. Don't get me wrong, James 5:17 tells us that Faith without works is dead. We are NOT to sit around awaiting the blessing to knock at our doors like the publishers clearing house. We must be set in motion, preparing behind the scenes. Think about it: if we have a spirit of hard work and zeal alongside of Christ's timing, OMG (another text lingo meaning Oh My Goodness) we are unstoppable!
In Psalm 73, David refers to a time when he too experienced what we have regarding the subject. He said his feet had almost slipped because he envied the arrogant when he witnessed the prosperity of the wicked. David said when he tried to understand why, it became oppressive until he entered the sanctuary of God. When we get into this funk and our vision is compromised, we MUST expeditiously get in the presence of God via his word or prayer in order to not fall short of His glory. Around the 25th verse David released something that sounded like pure music to my ears. Have you ever heard something so deep it felt like an aromatherapy bath with a hot cup of green tea and a good book after a 16 hour work day?
David said:
"Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire but you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever."
Tell me really, is there anything left to say? I think NOT! So fam, let's adopt David's attitude and progress with certainty, that when the dreams manifest they will be the very best and it will NOT be short lived. Be encouraged in knowing only what we do for our Diddy, Christ Jesus......WILL LAST!
Until Friday
